St. Castor and Companions parish
The Catholic parish covers the communities of Kail, Karden, Lieg, Lütz, Moselkern, Müden, Pommern and Treis. Its main church is the St. Castor collegiate church in Karden; the Romanesque parish church in Treis is St. Johannes der Täufer.

Primary and secondary school (Realschule plus) under one roof – the Treis-Karden primary school is organisationally part of the Konrad-Adenauer-Schule. Its catchment area covers Treis-Karden and Pommern (Cochem local authority) as well as Brieden (Kaisersesch local authority).
