Treis-Karden Volunteer Fire Brigade
Two districts, two stations: the Treis base fire brigade and the Karden fire brigade. They work hand in hand, each with its own station and its own leadership – all on a volunteer basis, around the clock.
In an emergency: 112 — fire brigade and ambulance service. This page does not replace an emergency call.
The Treis base fire brigade and the Karden fire brigade jointly cover the municipality. They respond to fires, road traffic accidents, technical rescues, and storm and flood situations on the Moselle, and support neighbouring brigades across the Cochem Local Authority area. Call-outs are dispatched via Koblenz Control Centre. The Treis brigade also has its own marching band.
Treis station
Station: Am Acker 7. As the base brigade, Treis holds more extensive equipment:
- Rescue and firefighting vehicle HLF 10
- Water tanker TLF 16/25
- Equipment vehicle RW
- Multi-purpose vehicle MZF 2
- Crew transport vehicle MTW
- Two rescue boats (RTB 2 and RTB) for operations on the Moselle
- Roll-on containers for forest fires, hose material and traffic safety

Training
Training doesn't follow fixed weekdays. As a rule, there is one general exercise and one specialist exercise each month; dates are announced internally and on the notice board at the station. Anyone curious about the fire brigade is welcome to stop by an exercise by arrangement.
Karden Youth Fire Brigade
The youth fire brigade is based in Karden. Children and young people aged 10 to 17 learn the basics of fire brigade service in a playful way – with camps, competitions and joint outings. Contact: [Name], [phone].
Treis Bambini Fire Brigade
For younger children there's the Bambini fire brigade in Treis. It meets on two Thursdays a month and introduces children from age [age] to the fire brigade in a playful way. Contact: [Name], [phone].
Treis Fire Brigade Marching Band
The marching band accompanies the brigade at parades, wake-up calls and fire brigade festivals, and keeps up the musical tradition in the village and the wider region. New musicians are welcome – no prior experience needed. Rehearsals: [weekday], [time], [venue]. Contact: [Name], [phone].
Support association
The support association (Förderverein) backs both stations with equipment purchases and youth work. Anyone can become a member – membership from [amount] € a year. Contact: [name], [email].
Get involved
The fire brigade runs on volunteers. Whether in active service, the youth or Bambini brigade, the marching band, or behind the scenes – support is welcome in Treis as much as in Karden. No firefighting training required to start.
